A Brief Canadian History is a 45 minute musical performance with digital projections, both highlighting legendary Canadian figures and historical events such as: The Iroquois, the Acadians, Louis Riel, the Underground Railroad, The Patriotes, the Klondike Gold Rush, the Irish Famine, John McCrae & WWI, The Depression, War Brides, Terry Fox and many more events and people in our Canadian history. Throughout the performance our music provides a linking thread, engaging the audience in the narratives of the songs which are designed to tell the stories of these people, events and places while promoting our Canadian culture and history.

A Brief Canadian History is a uniquely First Nations and Canadian performance. It is especially geared towards schools, embassies, cultural centers and the festival network. It also provides a forum for debate and for classroom discussion on subjects which include Canadian history, music, art, geography, literature, political science, and Native issues. Following performances there will be a question and answer period with prizes.

Comes see our showcase and book us for your future events.

What people are saying about A Brief Canadian History:

Jacques Garcia, Paroles & Music SOCAN Magazine.

“The narrative and lyrical parts of the performance address the subject matter presented in the other mediums simply, intelligently and without cultural bias. The aim of the performance is to increase awareness of the cultural mosaic that exists in Canada and to provoke thought and dialogue about our history and future.”

Cameron Noyse, Music promoter Vancouver, B.C.

A Brief Canadian History is a necessary tool that slides well across the curriculum. We all could benefit from seeing this presentation, if only to take some more pride in who we are and where we, as Canadians, come from. Scott is a proud Canadian, and subsequently, a wonderful educator of that pride.

Hutley Addie, teacher at John Rennie High School, Montreal, Quebec.

“A Brief Canadian History” brings together a creative mix of professionalism, humour, and heartfelt lyrics. The presentation was fast paced and interesting. The atmosphere created by questions, answers, slides and music was wonderful.”

Mrs. R. Wyse, Teacher at Riverdale High School, Montreal, Quebec.
